Half our catalog is steady-state. The other half (heritage open-pollinated, biodynamic specialty, greenhouse seasonal) trades on allocation. We publish the calendar four times a year and reserve in order of trade-account standing.

How the year runs
- Q1 opens January 2
Standard catalog open. Boston Pickling reservation window opens for August harvest.
- Q2 opens April 1
Spring Mexican gherkin allocation closes. Suyo Long allocation opens for Lancaster summer harvest.
- Q3 opens July 1
Armenian Yard-Long becomes available. Boston Pickling harvest releases. Lemon Cucumber California peak.
- Q4 opens October 1
Greenhouse English Slicing season begins. Persian volume tier negotiations open for the next year.
How allocation slots are filled.
We fill in this order: (1) trade accounts on three-year frame agreements, (2) trade accounts in good standing for over 24 months, (3) all other trade accounts in order of request received, (4) prospective accounts with completed credit applications.
We do not run a public bidding system. We do not move allocation in exchange for non-cucumber consideration. The list is published to every trade account holder when allocation closes.
Reserving today
Trade account holders log in and reserve through the account portal. Pre-buy allocation requires a signed allocation contract; the contract template is in the portal under "Trade documents."

2025 Q3 Boston Pickling sold its allocated volume in 11 days. 2025 Q1 Mexican Sour Gherkin allocation closed in 18 days. We expect both windows to move faster this year.
